Hardwires into a ceiling junction box. Shorten the drop by removing chain links. It dims only if you fit dimmable candelabra bulbs and an LED-rated wall dimmer — check that pairing before you buy, because plenty of candelabra LEDs are not dimmable. The sponged texture in the paint is deliberate and is not treated as a fault by the supplier.
